Her diverse writing career spans many years, encompassing influential government grants for charities, website creation, newsletter writing, and contributions to her local newspaper.
Lis is the author of several books, including the award-winning memoir, Seeking Yesterday: A Quest for American Roots. This book explores a deeply personal journey through old family documents to uncover lost World War II sacrifices and enduring legacies, starting with a 1922 homesteading deed. It chronicles an emotionally charged multi-generational visit to Southern California to connect with a family heritage that was nearly forgotten. Lis also penned Happy Tails: Adopting a Retired Racing Greyhound Dog, an informative and heartfelt guide that dispels myths and celebrates the gentle nature of retired racing greyhounds as they become beloved family pets.
A passionate advocate for lifelong learning and connection, Lis now brings her seasoned perspective to empowering seniors in the digital age with Embracing Tomorrow: A Senior’s Simple Guide to Tech and AI. She currently lives near family in Hillsboro, Oregon, with her husband of over 53 years and their rescued greyhound dog, cherishing every opportunity to connect and share her knowledge with others.
