Author Lis C. Richardson is a non-fiction writer and storyteller with a passion for unearthing the family history that shapes who we are. Drawing on a rich international background from her native Denmark, she brings a unique perspective to her work, which has included crafting everything from government grants to children's books for her great-grandchildren.

It's a tale told through her husband’s voice, weaving together a narrative of westward expansion and the Homestead Act of 1862 with poignant stories of family sacrifice, courage, and resilience. When she's not writing about legacies, you can find Lis in her Hillsboro, Oregon home, where she enjoys sewing, gardening, and baking with her husband of 53 years and their rescued greyhound.
